About Us

Jones Baker, a local plumber, saw a need in our area to aid those on limited incomes by helping with minor home repairs. Jones took the initiative by recruiting helpers to convert a bathroom into a closet for an elderly lady on a fixed income in the Fairview area. The group expanded that closet project into fixing a ramp, cleaning up the yard, and cleaning out a water damaged storage building over the course of four trips.

Many in the group decided they wanted to continue the efforts and began to identify other needs throughout Grayson County. Since that first project, more than 35 volunteers have worked on 19 projects throughout the county.

In December, 2023 Safe and Sound Outreach of Grayson was officially formed as a non-profit. Today, the group meets once a quarter to identify projects and invite new volunteers to coordinate. The Board meets annually in November.
